The Colorful Wedding of Leila & Youssef at the Villa Rouge
I absolutely loved managing Leila & Youssef’s beautiful day. Their wedding was a true reflection of who they are: incredibly colorful, deeply festive, and so moving.
Their Story
These two have been in love forever. They grew up and evolved individually, but their love managed to overcome every test and the passing of years. Franco-Algerian and deeply in love with Morocco (and with a man of Moroccan heritage), Leila trusted the latter to choose and select the rest of the vendors. In Morocco, everything is up for negotiation, and this charming guy can melt any vendor’s heart!
My Role: The “Wedding Manager” Package
I supported the couple with my Wedding Manager package, which includes regular calls where I give my feedback, coach them, and guide them through their project.
The day before, I supervised the setup and installation for all the vendors: lighting, sound, decor, etc., as well as the ceremony rehearsal with the bridal party so everyone knew their positioning and pacing.
(We don’t rehearse the speeches, obviously! I see you back there 😉).
On the big day, everything went off like clockwork.
Why I Loved This Wedding (And the lesson I learned!)
Leila completely surprised me with highly professional, beautifully thought-out mood boards. She used to work as a visual merchandiser: she has taste and a real eye for aesthetics. Needless to say, she entirely managed the visual side of her wedding.
Did I say colorful? Yes! Leila insisted on having a floral decor for the ceremony that was completely different from the reception space. While I was opposed to it at first, I realized that the architecture of the Villa Rouge perfectly allowed for this change of vibe as guests moved from the ceremony area to the dining area upstairs. And honestly, when you love so many different things, why choose? Thank you, Leila, for this beautiful lesson.
Moments that Stamped My Heart: Raw Emotion
These two looked absolutely sublime, and their outfits were each more stunning than the last.
The ceremony, oh my god! Usually, I prefer when it’s orchestrated by professional officiants to keep everything perfectly structured, but here, their friend who officiated gave an ultra-touching and sweet speech. The speeches from family and friends definitely brought a little tear to my eye.
And the moment that completely melted my heart: when I saw their friends change into traditional Algerian, Moroccan, and Sub-Saharan outfits, my heart just about melted.
